The answer depends on the number of batteries your flashlight uses and what type of flashlight you own. Because of these variations that exist the results will vary. As an estimate you can expect batteries to last twice as long as the performance of your flashlight with the original incandescent bulb installed.

    I needed a PR 4 bulb for a 2 AA incandescent headlamp. I came across the 1 Watt LED upgrade but was sort of shocked at the $14.98 price at Home Depot. Hesitant, I bought it and put it in and WOW!, the massive increase in output blew me away. Knowing that the LED is shockproof and will last a LONG-time makes the extra money worth it, never mind the output being so much better than I ever could have imagined. I think I'm going to buy 2 more for all the other flashlights I have as I'm pretty sure that between the increased light and the amount of batteries I'll save from the LED using so much less power, it will be totally worth it.
